The Passing of a Broadcast Legend

The Cleveland Regional Chapter would like to express our deepest sympathy to the family and broadcast colleagues of Peter Jennings, who passed away at his home in New York on Sunday, August 7th. The highly respected ABC News Anchor who was the consummate professional and news journalist had announced in April that he had lung cancer. He was 67 years old. All of us in the Cleveland Regional television community will miss him deeply.

NATAS Board Endorses Member Outreach Resolution

The NATAS Cleveland Regional Chapter Board of Governors endorsed the resolution below in support of Member Outreach at the chapter's annual meeting on July 23rd at Myers University Club in Cleveland.

"A resolution in support of the Cleveland Regional Chapter's Member Outreach

WHEREAS , the Cleveland Regional Chapter of the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences hereby resolves to keep in tact the current chapter demographics, as defined by the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences; and

WHEREAS , the Cleveland Regional Chapter has created an aggressive Chapter outreach committee to make every effort to include all regional members; and

WHEREAS , the Chapter's Board of Governors will seek and welcome volunteer support for all the committees from each of the cities served by the Cleveland Chapter; and

WHEREAS , the Chapter's Board of Governors is proposing a name change to the National office to better reflect the demographics of the Chapter

THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the Cleveland Regional Chapter will make significant strides for inclusion of all members of this Chapter."
